You may have notice eggplant recipe links. I had a nice lady from the Weaverville Tailgate market ask me for recipes and I stumbled upon them. I do not know if any ate good so let me know. The recipe that looks really good is eggplant Tian. It looks alot like eggplant parmesan but the eggplant is not fried. Can’t wait to make it.

Busy Summer August 26, 2011

light and dark green round baby blanket

Swirl Baby Blanket

Well, it has been a busy summer. I taught machine knitting classes at Friends and Fiberworks along with their summer retreat, ply the arts seminar (spinning class and a knitting class) in Athens Georgia, spinning class at the studio, another machine knitting student at the studio, baby goats being born (see earlier posts), gardens and markets. Whew! Fortunately it is slowing a bit so that I can pickle and can some of the produce.

The markets continue into October:  Weaverville on Wednesdays and Mars Hill on Saturdays. I will only be selling at the Southeastern Fiber Fair this fall. I have decided that I need to work on my inventory, catch up on everything I am behind on (cleaning, weedeating, fencing comes to mind). Right now the only outside studio teaching I am doing is at John C. Campbell in February 2012 and probably the Winter retreat at Friends and Fiberworks.

The blanket to the left is a blanket I made on the knitting machine. It took me about 3 hours to knit. The edging took me the most time. This is a present to a great nephew if I ever get it sent out!
